Repair Café for Sewists & Wanna-Be Sewists
Got a shirt with a missing button? A hem that’s gone rogue? A favorite piece of clothing sitting in the “I should really fix that someday” pile? Bring it to Repair Café for Sewists & Wanna-Be Sewists.
Join us at The Creative Jam on Saturday, July 18 from 1–3 PM for a relaxed, hands-on sewing repair session designed for people who want to learn practical mending skills without feeling like they need to become a full Victorian seamstress overnight. Dramatic sleeves optional.
This class is perfect for beginners, rusty sewists, and anyone who wants to feel a little more capable with a needle, thread, and basic repairs. We’ll walk through approachable fixes like buttons, small tears, hems, patches, simple hand-sewing techniques, and how to look at a repair without immediately throwing the garment into textile purgatory.
Bring 1–2 items you’d like help repairing. We’ll do our best to guide you through the fix during class, depending on the project and time needed.
