Paws, Paint & Personality

Sunday, February 22, 2026 - 11:00 AM EST

Turn your beloved pet into a one-of-a-kind painted portrait in this guided acrylic painting class designed for all skill levels—especially beginners.

Using a favorite photo of your pet, you’ll learn approachable acrylic techniques for building a portrait step by step, including simple sketching, color mixing, layering, and expressive brushwork. We’ll focus on capturing your pet’s personality—those soulful eyes, floppy ears, curious tilt, or proud posture—rather than striving for perfect realism.

Important style note:

This class uses a loose, colorful, expressive painting style, similar to the example shown. Your finished piece will be inspired by your pet’s photo, but interpreted in a painterly, artistic way. Expect bold brushstrokes, simplified shapes, and playful or enhanced color choices (you may stay realistic or explore more creative color). This is not a photorealistic or hyper-detailed portrait class.

If you’re looking for a joyful, creative experience and a portrait that feels like your pet—quirks, charm, and all—you’re in the right place.

Please bring a clear photo of your pet (printed or on your phone). One pet per canvas.

🎨 All supplies included

🐶 Beginner-friendly

💛 No prior painting experience needed

You’ll leave with a finished (or nearly finished) acrylic portrait and a piece of art that celebrates the pet you love in a fun, expressive way.

February Crafty Chapters! Love You to Death

Sunday, February 22, 2026 - 12:00 PM EST

Crafty Chapters: Love You To Death

Sunday, February 22, 2026 • 12:00–1:30 PM

Cost: $25

(Book not included — please read before attending.)

Dive into a dark, twisty love story and then make something deliciously gothic to go with it.

Join us for February’s edition of Crafty Chapters, where we’ll discuss Love You To Death by Rowen Chambers and then create our own decorated wooden coffin trinket boxes. Think mysterious, romantic, a little edgy, and entirely you.

We’ll spend the first part of our time chatting about the book — the red flags, the tension, the characters we rooted for (or didn’t), and the plot twists we did not see coming.

Then we’ll shift into crafting mode as you design and embellish your own coffin-shaped keepsake box using paint, washi, rhinestones, charms, vintage papers, and other gothic-romantic bits. You’ll also choose a few meaningful items to tuck inside — a tiny charm, an intention note, dried florals, or whatever feels right for your story.

No crafting experience needed. Just bring your book, your thoughts, and your creative spirit.

Come read, discuss, and make something unforgettable.

Pieceful Weekend- A Quilt/Open Sew Retreat

Saturday, February 28, 2026 - 9:00 AM EST

Pieceful Weekend

February 28- March 1, 2026

A Quilting & Open Sew Retreat at The Creative Jam

6 State Route 149, Lake George, NY 12845

AGE 18+

Escape to the creative comfort of our log cabin space for a weekend of stitching, story-swapping, and maybe just a little seam-ripping (hey, it happens). Whether you’re quilting, binding, hemming, or finally finishing that WIP that’s been giving you the side-eye from your closet—this weekend is for you.

Settle in at your own 6’ table with rolling chair, power access right at your station, bright LED lighting, and plenty of space to spread out. We’ll have shared ironing and cutting stations, a laid-back atmosphere, and a soundtrack of fabric rustling, friendly laughter, and creative flow.

Bring your machine, your fabric, your thread, and your half-finished dreams. This isn’t a structured class—it’s a relaxed, supportive gathering of stitchers who get it.

We’re adding to the fun with:

Catered lunch & dinner (because no one sews well hangry)

Coffee, tea, cocoa, and a shared snack table (treats welcome!)

Table gifts—because surprises are better than selvage edges

Optional games, door prizes, and community giveaways

A “Take It or Leave It” table for destashing and treasure hunting

Free parking, hotel next door, and plenty of nearby lodging options

Expect cozy vibes, casual guidance if you want it, and maybe even a few new quilting friends. We’re gathering where the walls are wood, the air smells like inspiration (and coffee), and creativity is always in season.

Because sometimes the best way to piece yourself back together… is with a needle and thread.

MARCH Mystic Makers- Healing Sound Bath and Meaningful Craft

Tuesday, March 3, 2026 - 6:30 PM EST

Mystic Makers: A Sound Bath & Creative Ritual Series

Step into a slower rhythm.

Mystic Makers is a monthly evening of rest, reflection, and gentle creation at The Creative Jam, aligned with the energy of the moon. Most months, we gather under the New Moon—a time for intention, beginnings, and quiet inward listening. In March, we’ll meet under the Full Moon, embracing illumination, release, and a little extra magic while Amy is away.

Each Mystic Makers evening includes:

  • a deeply grounding sound bath, designed to help your nervous system soften and settle
  • a small, meaningful creative project—simple, intentional, and accessible to everyone (no “art skills” required)
  • space to reflect, reset, and carry something tangible home that holds the energy of the night

These are not classes in the traditional sense. There’s nothing to finish perfectly, nothing to perform, and nothing to share unless you want to. The creative element is offered as a quiet ritual—something to do with your hands while your mind rests and your intentions take shape.

Whether you come seeking clarity, calm, grounding, or simply a pause from the noise of everyday life, Mystic Makers invites you to slow down, tune in, and make a little magic—one moon at a time.

Learn to Sew with Purpose: Blankets for Rachel’s Gift

Saturday, March 7, 2026 - 9:30 AM EST

Learn to Sew with Purpose: Blankets for Rachel’s Gift

This sewing series is for people who want to learn, give back, and be part of a sewing community.

Together, we’ll be creating blankets for weighted teddy bears donated through Rachel’s Gift, an organization that supports families who have experienced the loss of a baby. These bears—and the blankets made for them—are gifts of comfort, care, and remembrance.

This offering is intentionally designed to bring people together across experience levels and generations of sewists.

This series is for:

  • People who want to learn the basics of sewing, including sewing machine use, straight seams, and building confidence with fabric
  • Experienced sewists who want to mentor and support newer makers, helping pass skills along to the next generation
  • Anyone looking for a welcoming, purpose-driven sewing community
  • People who want their creativity to make a meaningful difference

Each session is led by a primary instructor and supported by experienced sewing mentors who work side-by-side with learners. This structure allows beginners to receive hands-on help while learning at a comfortable, encouraging pace.

We’ll cover sewing machine basics, fabric handling, and simple construction techniques while working together on the blankets. Questions are welcome. Mistakes are expected. Support is built in.

For Learners

No prior sewing experience is required.

  • $30 — Learners bringing their own sewing machine
  • $40 — Learners who need to use a shared sewing machine. NOTE: Learners who need to use a sewing machine will be waitlisted until enough machines are confirmed. If machines are not available by the session, your ticket will be refunded.

Calling Sewing Mentors

If you’re an experienced sewist who enjoys helping others learn, we would love to have you as a mentor.

  • Mentors attend for free
  • Mentors who bring a spare sewing machine to share receive a $10 Creative Jam gift card per machine. (Bring two machines, earn two gift cards)

Your time, patience, and willingness to share your skills are what make this program possible.

By the end of the series, participants will have:

  • Gained practical sewing skills and confidence at the machine
  • Contributed to a project that offers real comfort to others
  • Built connections within a supportive sewing community
  • Helped pass skills and care forward in a meaningful way

This is sewing as community.

This is learning with purpose.

This is how skills—and care—are passed along.

Paper Quilling: Slow and Steady Turtle🐢

Sunday, March 29, 2026 - 11:00 AM EST

Paper Quilling: Slow and Steady Turtle🐢

Slow down, breathe deep, and let the paper curl.

In this calming quilling class, we’ll create a beautiful framed turtle using rolled paper strips, layered textures, and earthy green tones. This design introduces a new shape and construction style, making it perfect for both first-time quillers and those who’ve taken quilling before and are ready for something fresh.

Beginners will learn the fundamentals of paper quilling — rolling, shaping, and gluing coils with confidence — while returning students will enjoy exploring a more organic, sculptural design that moves beyond traditional flat patterns. The turtle’s shell is built with layered coils and flowing lines, creating a rich, textured look that feels both meditative and expressive.

Turtles symbolize patience, protection, wisdom, and steady progress — and this class is designed to feel exactly like that: unhurried, grounding, and deeply satisfying.

You’ll leave with a finished framed artwork that’s ready to display or gift, plus new skills and ideas you can use in future quilling projects.

All supplies are included. No rush. No pressure. Just slow, steady, beautiful making.

Reclaim Your Inner Badass (Fantasy Edition)

Saturday, April 4, 2026 - 10:00 AM EST

Reclaim Your Inner Badass* (Fantasy Edition)

April 4, 10 am- 1:30 (ish)

Most of us grew up loving stories—books, movies, imaginary worlds where people were braver, bolder, and more fully themselves. Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught to stop imagining, stop playing, and be practical instead.

This workshop is an invitation to pick that back up—and turn it into something real.

In this session, you’ll create your own fantasy character from the ground up, guided step by step in a supportive, no-pressure environment. We’ll begin with imagination and identity—who your character is, what they’ve lived through, and how they move through the world—then translate those ideas into an actual, playable Dungeons & Dragons character.

As part of that process, you’ll explore what kind of character feels most like you:

Would you rather be…

A Wizard who learned power by paying attention, remembering everything, and realizing that knowledge is leverage—especially when people assume you’re harmless

An Elf who has outlasted trends, nonsense, and most people’s opinions, sees patterns early, and knows when disappearing is the smartest move

A Ranger who trusts their instincts over advice, prefers a bow and some distance, and knows how to survive when things get quiet and no one’s coming to help

A Fighter who shows up, takes the hit, holds the line, and keeps going—not because it’s heroic, but because quitting was never really an option

A Rogue who clocked early that the rules weren’t built for them, learned to improvise fast, and survives by being sharper than the room

A Bard who uses humor and stories as both shield and weapon, controls the narrative, and knows exactly when to drop the truth and walk away

A Druid who chose the edge instead of the center, trusts cycles and change more than systems, and refuses to shrink just to make others comfortable

A Cleric who has carried other people through hard things, learned the cost of care, and is finally reclaiming strength through boundaries and belief

Or whatever character you’ve always imagined yourself being, but never had a place to try on.

From there, we’ll gently and clearly cover the mechanics, in plain language, with plenty of space for questions. This class is designed especially for absolute beginners, including those who haven’t played since the 80s or have never played at all.

Because… Coming soon to The Creative Jam: small-group Dungeons & Dragons play sessions with just 6–8 players per table, made up of others who are also new or returning after a long break. These sessions are intentionally paced, welcoming, and beginner-friendly, no being thrown in with seasoned players or expected to already know the rules.

This workshop is the perfect first step, giving you both a character and the confidence to join Creative Jam’s upcoming D&D playtime.

You’ll leave this session with:

A completed (or nearly completed) D&D character, maybe with a name and an idea of what they look like

A clear understanding of how the game works

The comfort of knowing you’ll be playing alongside people just like you

No gatekeeping. No judgment. No pressure.

Just imagination, guidance, and permission to play again.

(Yes, we said badass. Here, it means resilient, capable, and still willing to imagine.)
